Over the past several years, Daventry Appraisal Services has successfully advocated for significant improvements to USDA indemnity valuations, including extending the recognized production lifecycle of commercial laying hens from 85 to 115 weeks, securing additional compensation for cage-free and organically raised poultry, and encouraging the North American Gamebird Association (NAGA) to work with the USDA to establish a formal definition for gamebird breeder flocks. We have also successfully supported higher valuations for species not included in the annual USDA indemnity tables, including flying mallards. To our knowledge, we are the only appraisal firm to have successfully appealed an HPAI indemnity appeal decision with USDA-APHIS. To date, our U.S. clients have recovered more than $30 million through successful USDA indemnity appeals.
